Usc capstone scholars program

This eight-week program occurs each spring semester during the evening. With assistance from the staff and peer instructors, each student will also practice strategic thinking by creating an action plan for an idea they would like to implement on campus or in their organization! This course is for credit 1 hour , and students receive a certificate upon completion.

Any of our Scholars are welcome to apply in the fall. Through Capstone I was able to make some of the best friendships of my life, receive valuable advice from the outstanding Capstone Scholars staff, get involved in a number of activities on- and off-campus, and learn more about myself. Students are invited into the Capstone Scholars Program as incoming freshmen, based on the information they submit in their application for admission.

No separate application is required, and Capstone is open to all majors. All accepted students who apply by the December 1 deadline are given consideration, and Capstone Scholars are usually notified of their admission into the program in early March.

Students admitted into the program for fall presented midrange SAT scores of critical reading and math sections only , midrange ACT composite scores of , and very strong high school GPAs. Our Capstone Scholars will form a close bond by taking some courses, like our award-winning University class, together. They'll also participate in the four pillars of the program: Academics , Leadership , Social , and Service. A variety of activities are planned each semester that support the pillars, such as Capstone Conversations with a faculty member, service activities at local non-profits, and even special Study Abroad opportunities.

The halls are adjacent to each other and near many academic buildings where students will have their classes. Once you have been accepted through the admissions office, then you can apply to live in Capstone or Columbia Halls Capstone Village. The Housing application is open from February 15 until May 15, which allows plenty of time to complete the Housing application. Community assignments are made on a rolling basis.

Once you have been accepted to Capstone Scholars and you have submitted your top choice as Capstone Community, you will be notified that you are a part of the community via the assignments office.
