These catch cans are internally baffled and feature a 50 micron bronze filter to separate oil and fuel from the CCV air passing through the can. Check out the internals! The inclusion of our internal baffle provides a couple of benefits. First, it prevents oil and fuel from splashing throughout the can during aggressive cornering or along bumpy terrain. Additionally, the baffle provides more internal surface area for oil to condense, therefore improving the effectiveness of our catch can.
Now that we had our cans selected, it was time to begin fabricating some brackets. The first target would be our breather can, which would need to be located on the driver side of the engine compartment. As you can see, we are tethering this bracket to the batter hold-down bolt. This location is ideal because it is within close proximity to the breather ports, which means shorter, cleaner line routing.
Next, we needed to address the PCV line. This diagram from Radiaum Engineering shows their dual catch can setup in action. Catch Cans allow the PCV system to continue functioning exactly as stock since they simply intersect the points from the crankcase back to the intake tract.
However, to maintain this factory like operation, you do usually need to run two separate cans. One for the valve covers, and one for the PCV system as this will maintain the OE designed flow through the crankcase. Going back to the original question, again, this is an optional modification and technically not needed to operate a high performance car.
But if the point of a build is to perform, this could be considered paramount in achieving a higher level of performance both immediately and from a reliability standpoint.

Ok so you want to know how to set-up a super efficient catch can setup for maximum evacuation and efficiency? Start with a large catch can that has several inlets into baffled areas with filtering elements. Those areas should then drain to an area below while air can pass through to another chamber. In the next chamber you run an outlet to the intake that pulls vacuum. You should have at least 3 inlets to the catch can, one from each valve cover and one from the crankcase.
These lines are at least AN lines and a larger AN line is run to the inlet. If you are looking to do a catch can set-up that is vented to the atmosphere it was tested on a high revving forced induction four cylinder, that it took at least two AN lines from the valve cover and one AN line from the crank case to a large catch can with two 1. Understand that every motor is different based on how it was built with the amount of ring gap the motor is running, how high it revs, the amount of boost pressure it runs, and so on.
